All I Want for Christmas Is a…

The gift children most wanted for Christmas this year may surprise you.  It wasn’t the latest electronic gadget or top-rated toy.  For children between the ages of three and twelve it was a baby brother or sister that topped  their list.  This according to what 2,000 children spoke into the ears of Santa Claus(es) in a large department store in London, England.  The actual ten in order were:

#1 Baby
   #2 Reindeer
      #3 Horse
         #4 Car
            #5 Dog

#6 Chocolates
   #7 House
      #8 Snow
         #9 Candy
            #10 Father
The number one wish being a baby sibling shouldn’t come as a surprise.  This is due to the fact that in 2011, the North American birthrate hit an all-time low.  To put it in perspective – for every 1,000 child-bearing age women, only 63 gave birth.  In addition, a father making the list should also not come as a surprise, for almost half of all new-born babies are now born out of wedlock.

Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (A true buddy is always there and a sibling is birthed to help in time of need.)
