Gay Days

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did
eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; but the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven,
and destroyed them all.  Even thus shall it be in
the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Jesus taught there is good news and bad news when it comes to the believer, the last days, and sexuality.  The good is that like in Noah’s day – there will continue to be good, old-fashioned, heterosexuality.  The bad is that like in Lot’s day – there will be an unprecedented rise of homosexuality.  And it is the latter that is taking place before our very eyes.  From the courts to the legislatures to the schools to the media to the church, gay is the new norm.  And the most recent example of this is the current leader of Ontario, Kathleen Wynne.  Ms. Wynne is not only the first woman to be our provincial premier, she is also the first openly gay elected official to hold that office.  Premier Wynne lives with her same-sex partner after having left and divorced her husband.  The two ladies married in 2005 and are members of the Fairlane Avenue United Church.  And in a local application to the story, the now head of the Ontario Liberal Party has let it be known that she plans on appointing herself as minister of agriculture.  This even though she’s lived in downtown Toronto all her life and doesn’t know the first thing about farming. Hey, maybe she’ll visit Wingham one day!  The bottom line of all this?  Folks, you better get used to it, this is not your grandparent’s Ontario.
SUPER BOWL
Colin Kaepernick

Bio – This Sunday evening a young quarterback named Colin Kaepernick will lead his team into the Super Bowl.  He is one of the bright rising stars in the National Football League.  But Colin is also a strong born-again believer.  Here’s how he came to Christ.  A white teenager found herself pregnant from a black man.  Instead of getting an abortion, she chose to have the baby.  Unable to raise the child herself, she put the infant boy up for adoption.  A Caucasian couple who had lost two children due to heart defects were looking to add a third sibling for their son and daughter.  But already having two white children, the law required they must choose a non-Caucasian child.  And so they brought home little, mixed-race, Colin.  But more than bringing him into their house, they brought him to God’s house.  And there he found Christ.  As Colin grew he became infatuated with getting tattoos (much to his parents chagrin) and is now the most tattooed player in football.  But the engravings are all scripture verses and faith depictions.  When  Colin signed his multi-million dollar football contract, he set up a charitable foundation in memory of the two children his adoptive parents had lost.  It is a special camp for kids with heart defects where they will also be taught how to be saved.

✓Note – This is another example of a young woman choosing life instead of death for her baby and in turn giving the  world not just an outstanding talent but even more, an outstanding person.  One who is and will use his wealth to make a difference physically and spiritually in the life of so many disadvantaged boys and girls.  More of these kinds of stories will be shown in the adult class on Family Sunday morning, February 17, at 10:00 a.m.  The video is entitled, The Gift Of Life.
